With reference to my Confidential despatch of

the 7th July, 1933, regarding the proposed reorganisation of the Medical and Sanitary Services in Hong Kong, I have the 53584 honour to invite your attention to my despatches Nos.131, 132 53590 53577 and 133 of the 4th March, 1935, forwarding for the signif-

35 ication of His Majesty's pleasure Ordinances Nos.7, 8 and 9

of 1935.

These Ordinances form the first instalment of

the legislation designed to take the place of the Public

Health and Buildings Ordinance No.1 of 1903. They have been

passed with the inclusion of a suspending clause, in order. that they, and further legislation shortly to be enacted, may,

if approved, be brought into operation simultaneously by

proclamation.
